I don't journal much, but I thought this was noteworthy.

I have stores at Cafepress.Com. I frequently check out what store owners are doing in the way of designs. It is part of my "artist block ritual" when coming up with designs of my own.

I was checking out pin-up designs at Cafepress.Com, when I happened upon some nice illustrations. As I was paging through them, I noticed a design that I recognized. It looked like a Scott Blair Illustration.

I continued analyzing it in contrast with the other designs in this particular store. There was no similarity in any of the designs. This sent up a red flag. I bet someone snagged one of Scott Blair's Illustrations.

I got on DeviantArt and contacted Scott about it.

Sure enough, the design had been used without his permission.

So, when you are out there in cyberspace, remember to keep an eye out for your favorites' work. You may be able to help them out.

If as an art community, we keep an eye out for these infringements, maybe they will occur less frequently.
